Location: United States

Fees:  1.49% Transaction fee

Comments:  Easy way for new users to buy, sell and use bitcoin online.  When you buy bitcoin at Coinbase the price will lock in when you order but you won’t receive your bitcoins until the bank transfer is completes.  ACH transfers in U.S. will take up to 5 days,  SEPA transfer in Europe process within 48 hours.

Bitfinex.com  –  Peer to Peer Bitcoin Exchange & Margin Trading Platform

Location: Taiwan

Deposit fees:  0.10% of deposit amount, minimum $20

Trading fees:  0.10% Maker Fees, 0.20% Taker Fees.  Fees reduced after $500,000 30 day trading volume

Comments:  Good bitcoin exchange for traders or larger investors.  Not ideal for new traders or small buyers.  Bitfinex was hacked in August 2016 and lost customer bitcoins.   We recommend storing your bitcoin elsewhere after you buy them.   We recommend KeepKey

Comments:  Easy way for Europeans to buy bitcoin via SEPA, SOFORT, or online bank transfer.

Bitstamp – Peer to Peer Bitcoin Exchange & Trading Platform

Location: Luxembourg

Fees:  SEPA deposits are free, withdrawals are 0.90 EUR

Trading fees:  Start at 0.25% and decrease after 18000+ EUR trade volume in 30 days

Comments:  Founded in 2011 Bitstamp is one of the oldest and most resilient bitcoin exchanges in the world.  Highly recommended for traders or high volume investors.
